Safety First Conference & Expo Leads with Industry Experts

Acclaimed leaders in workplace safety practices will come together to inspire and share new ideas for lifting safety standards, at the Safety First Conference & Expo (May 26 – 29, Melbourne). The event is co-located with National Manufacturing Week, Austech and the SMART Logistics conference, to harness shared energies from the manufacturing, transport, building & construction, government and broader industry sectors.

Griffith University’s Prof Sidney Dekker – whose groundbreaking work on human error and safety as been recognised globally – will lead a stellar lineup of speakers (see Highlights below) in a conference program, which includes free workshops and ‘drop in’ as well as sign-up (pre-paid) sessions.
Anthony Reed, Event Director comments, “Recent breaches by large Australian employers – the NSW Police Force, Grocon and Alcoa, to name a few – remind us that we never stop learning new approaches to safety,” comments Reed.

“What’s unique about Safety First is that it gives you the highest level of access to industry leaders – so that you gain the benefit of their insights and perspectives into shared industry challenges.”
The Safety First Conference & Expo has confirmed participation from industry-leading companies representing personal protective gear, machine and general safety systems, ICT support and workplace health and wellness solutions.

Practical workshops will be a feature of the event and will cover safety strategy, collective OH&S and safety leadership, including sessions such as Rapid Test Systems presenting on RCD Compliance and Beyond Blue discussing the effectiveness of their Man Therapy campaign. Safety First Conference & Expo will also include specialist displays from CEJN, makers of patented safety couplings, business security from Eclipse Security Systems and latest solutions from A1 Test and Tagging.
